Tip* if you have these elements, charts or several tables save a PDF copy of your Word document for submission.

Both are in Module Information You can find submission points in… Assessment & Grades You can find the assessment criteria in the… rubric or grading form in the submission point

4 Accessing the rubric or grading form
In the module where you will submit… 2 Click on ‘Assessment & Grades’ In ‘Assessment & Grades’, click on ‘View/Complete’ under the submission point. In the submission point, click on the rubric button (which looks like a little tower of Lego bricks)

5 Understanding your similarity report
The similarity report score is not a grade - it is a rating of how much of your work matches writing from the web and scholarly sources It is normal to have matches to content in your work You can use your similarity report to: Check that you have cited your sources correctly; Check that you have not unintentionally plagiarised; Improve your work and then resubmit prior to the deadline. Guidance on understanding your similarity report is available in the Assessment & Grades area in each of your modules (“Turnitin” link) 3

6 Try out your similarity report…
Check the Match Overview Adjust the Filters and Settings - helpful for 0% reports 3 Screenshot 1 – Match Overview: Turnitin Feedback Studio shows an image of an essay with a 5% match, the match is broken down into it's component parts in the match breakdown. You may notice that the component matches add up to more than 5% (=6). For instance the top match of 2%, indicates that 2% of the matched online text matches to the essay. The overall percentage of ‘5%’ indicates how much of the essay text has matched to other sources. Screenshot 2 – Filters and Settings: A paper where no matches have been found is shown. In this case you can try changing the filters and settings to see if this brings up anything in your report. In the example shown, the ‘Exclude Bibliography’ option is turned on – I can try turning it off and see if different results are shown. Your changes will have no effect on the similarity report which is shown to the instructors who mark you.
