2 Summary Roy Ebrehardt is the new kid in school at Trace Middle in Florida . He and his Mom and Dad have lived all over the United States. Through a series of adventures Roy made friends with a runaway boy called Mullet Fingers and his half-sister Beatrice. The three of them began a quest to save an endangered species of burrowing owls from a construction site for Mother Paula’s All American Pancake House . They finally succeed in discovering the Mother company knew about the owls, but tried to keep it a secret so they could build their pancake house. In the end, the group of friends told the public what the Mother Paula’s company was doing and stopped the construction to save the owls.

3 sETTING The setting took place in a small town in Florida called Coconut Cove.

4 Main Character The main character is Roy Eberhardt . Roy is very adventurous , curious, and brave. Roy is adventurous and curious because he jumped off the bus to chase a Mullet Fingers, a running boy that he saw. Roy is brave because he punched a bully, Dana Matherson, and because he stood up the Mother Paula’s All American Pancake House to prove that he was right.

5 My Opinion My opinion of the book is it is interesting and educational. It is interesting because Roy and his have a lot of wild adventures. It is educational because it teaches you how people can make a difference in the world no matter what age you are.
