2 Starter Find out the following fractions of amounts.
 Divide the amount by the denominator (bottom), then multiply by the numerator (top) a) 1/5 of 20 b) 1/3 of 24 c) 3/4 of 8 d) 3/7 of 14 e) 7/10 of 90 f) 5/6 of 42 = 4 = 8 = 6 = 6 = 63 = 35

So the remaining 5 fish were Pikes and Eels 5

We have seen how to find out how many people a certain area represents We also looked at using the size of an area to work out how to find another area
