Spelling - Rabbit Rule Social Studies- Native Americans Rabbit Rule=Doubling Letter When a word: (1) has 2 syllables, (2) the vowel in the first syllable is short, AND (3) there is only ONE constant sounds between the first and second vowel….. THEN, double the middle consonant closest to the first syllable. This Week Vocabulary Words descendants – family members who are born after others in a family sanctuary – a place that is safe or protected threatened – in danger emerge – come into view fragile – easily broken habitat – the area where an animal lives
