5 Destiny Statements Your destiny statements will be constructed in three segments: Identity, Purpose, and Assignment. Identity tells who you are. Purpose reveals you why you are here. You assignment reveals specific instructions. 1

6 Destiny Statements Identity Statement
We will start by creating your identity statements completing the sentence: “I am ….” Write down a series of identity statements from the information you receive about yourself. Remember, identity is the very core of who you are. You can derive this from your motivational wiring, DISC assessment, resilience assessment, Core Values, and from your journaling! 1

7 Destiny Statements Identity Statement Examples of Identity Statements:
I am an overcomer. I am a source of peace. I am an agent of change. I am a tool of enlightenment. I am a peace maker. I am a giver. 1

8 Destiny Statements Identity Statement
Now that you have a list of Identity statements. You will ask God for His insight on each one. Don’t worry if no single statement seems just right. We will continue to work on honing them down to your pure God-given essence! The objective is to begin seeking confirmation from the Lord on the statements you have received thus far. 1

9 Destiny Statements Purpose Statement
Using the same process, create a series of destiny statements. In simple, clear terms complete the sentence: “My destiny is to….” These statements are to be a reflection of the work the Holy Spirit wants to do in the world through you. Try to avoid details such as the groups with whom you will work, specific details on how you will do it, etc. Sources of destiny can come from all the assessments, identifying gifts & weakness & journaling! Your destiny statement should be a broad statement of what you uniquely bring to the world.

10 Destiny Statements Purpose Statement Examples: My destiny is to ….
Be a positive influence on the lives of women and children. Heal people's pain. Show people their true selves. Provide leadership in the organizations I am in. Help others to overcome the struggles of life. Create peace in the lives of others. Lead people out of poverty. 1

11 Destiny Statements Assignment Statement
Write several statements to complete the phrase: “My assignment is to ….” Typically, this is easier than the first two statements, probably because the idea of “doing something” is more natural. Although your assignment is an important part of your purpose, the first two statements are much more critical! Don’t worry about how big or small your assignment may be, or the details of how to make it happen. For now just capture the assignments you feel God has given. 1

12 Destiny Statements Assignment Statement
Also remember that your assignment may not be what you expected and your current assignment may not be the “end game.” In the Kingdom of God we operate by the seed principle. “…first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the head.” Mark 5:28 You will receive more “assignments” as you complete these, for now just focus on these Your assignment is just a step towards the big picture so do not despise how small it may be.
