Service Scholarship Success

6 Programmatic Requirements
Complete at least 12 credit hours per semester Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA Participate in Turner meetings and signature Turner Programs Induction Ceremony, Breakfast of Champions, Turner Olympics, End of Year, Etc. Complete a minimum of 30 community service hours 15 per semester (Hours also counted for Cincinnatus) Complete a diversity project Scholars must sign in weekly Freshmen must spend 1 hour in the office each week Meet with Assistant Director and/or Program Coordinator upon request As freshman you must have a one on one with the Assistant Director *Failure to meet any of these requirements can mean automatic termination from the program.

7 Academic Recovery If your semester and/or cumulative GPA drops below a 3.0, you will be placed on Turner academic recovery. Notified of academic recovery status following end of each term Recovering scholars meet with Assistant Director bi-weekly Must turn in an academic recovery action plan and midterm evaluation form Removed from academic recovery once GPA reaches a 3.0 or higher Failure to raise GPA to at least 3.0 following Turner Academic Recovery may lead to termination from the program.

8 Turner Accountability
Miss weekly sign in: +1 hour of community service Miss a turner scholar meeting: +2 hours of community service Miss 2 meetings in a semester: Stipend removed for the following semester Miss 4 weekly office sign ins: Stipend removed for the following semester Miss 4 meetings in an academic calendar year: Termination of scholarship Miss 8 weekly sign ins in an academic calendar year: Termination of scholarship Excused Absences: Class Co-Op Emergencies Religious Reasons Illness Unexcused Absences: Work/Employment Club/Organization Meeting Homework Non-Academic performances/Events

9 Accountability Continued
Perpetual lateness or early dismissals must be discussed and are subject to approval If you are more than 15 minutes late (or leave more than 15 minutes early) twice, it will count as a missed meeting Must contact the Turner Program Coordinator (Peyton Wu) of all conflicts at least 48 hours in advanced Documentation to confirm excused absences can be requested

Required for Freshmen & Academic Recovery Hard Copy Paper Student Leadership Conference – Saturday, October 27 from 9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. (TUC) Required for Freshmen & Ambassadors Registration Link: Turner Induction Ceremony – Monday, October 29 (TUC Great Hall) Freshmen Families Welcome to Attend Fall Service Hours – Due Friday, December 14 , Print Out Breakfast of Champions – Thursday, February 8:00 A.M. (TUC Great Hall) All Turners Must Nominate a Faculty / Staff Member Freshmen Diversity Projects – Monday, March 11 & Monday, March 25 Turner Olympics – Friday, April 5 Turner End of the Year Celebration – Monday, April 15 (TUC Great Hall) Spring Service Hours – Due Thursday, May 2

13 Other Expectations Scholar Employment
Must fill out work form regardless of number of hours working 20+ hours of work a week requires a meeting with Director or Assistant Director Participation in Fraternity & Sorority Life Must submit the Greek interest form on CampusLink Do not need to identify which Greek organization, just that you are going through the process If want to be active / are currently active on a NCAA UC Athletic Team you must notify staff Requests for recommendation letters must be 3 weeks in advanced Form for recommendation letter request on CampusLink Send directly (include resume, description, key things to highlight) Open Turner Office Hours on Tuesdays (2 PM – 4 PM) and Thursdays (10 AM – 12 PM) Meetings can also be made by appointment with staff via All communication will go to your UC account Messages will be sent from Canopy, CampusLink, and/or Turner Account You are responsible of informing us when you are on Co-op and/or Study Abroad Form for co-op / study abroad available on CampusLink
