Model of actin tail assembly by vaccinia virus A36R.
Model of actin tail assembly by vaccinia virus A36R. Nck, WIP, and N-WASP bind vaccinia A36R. Amino acid Tyr112of vaccinia virus A36R is phosphorylated (Ph) by cellular Src family kinases. Phosphorylated A36R interacts with the adapter protein Nck. Nck, WIP, and N-WASP may exist as a preformed complex. Stimulated N-WASP activates the Arp2/3 complex. WBD, WASP-binding domain; NBD, Nck-binding domain; Pro, proline-rich region; N-WASP abbreviations as in the legend to Fig. 20. Marcia B. Goldberg Microbiol. Mol. Biol. Rev. 2001; doi: /MMBR
