Leadership should be a way of life! Make no mistake, becoming a leader is demanding and not for the faint of heart.
3
The 5 Levels of Leadership
4
The 5 Levels of Leadership
Leadership is Influence
6
Level 1: Position/ Rights
LEADERSHIP BASED ON RIGHTS “it is lonely at the top” If it is lonely at the top, you are doing something wrong.
7
Level 1: Position/ Rights
8
Level 1: Position/ Rights
“and then some” Getting a title is an invitation to personal growth. Your first challenge will be to grow to a level 2 leader.
9
Level 1: Position/ Rights
“Anyone can be appointed to a position.” True leadership qualities are developed over time.
10
Level 1: Position/ Rights
In order to be a leader a man must have followers. And to have followers, a man must have their confidence. Hence the supreme quality of a leader is unquestionably, integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, on a football field, in an army, or in an office. If a man's associates find him guilty of phoniness, if they find that he lacks forthright integrity, he will fail. His teachings and actions must square with each other. The first great need, therefore, is integrity and high purpose. Dwight D. Eisenhower Level 1: Position/ Rights
11
Level 2: Permission/Relationships
LEADERSHIP BASED ON RELATIONSHIPS. “and then some” Why, because they believe you have a vision and they will follow your vision.
12
Level 2: Permission/Relationships
13
Level 2: Permission/Relationships
You don’t need a title to be a level 2 leader. Pray Together, Play Together, Stay Together.
14
Level 2: Permission/Relationships
Make sure you show a genuine interest in your colleagues on a personal level. Make sure you compliment your colleagues for their personal strengths.
15
Only do what only you can do
Only do what only you can do. Stay on your assignment and respect the assignment of others. Paul E. Tsika II
16
Level 2: Permission/Relationships
Everyone wants to feel: Liked Cared For Included Valued Trusted
17
People go along with leaders they get along with.
18
Level 2: Permission/Relationships
Good relationships strengthen the organization and increase loyalty and mutual trust. As you build good relationships, based on mutual respect, a foundation of an enjoyable working atmosphere and team spirit will emerge. When a General gets too far ahead of his troops, he will often be mistaken as the enemy.
19
People go along with leaders they get along with.
20
Level 2: Permission/Relationships
The downside of level 2, Having a relational workplace does not automatically- mean you can lead to achieve results.
21
Level 3: Production/Results
LEADERSHIP BASED ON RESULTS. “People come before production!”
22
Level 3: Production/Results
People will never be able to achieve positive results in the long run, when their personal needs are not being met first. Burn-out takes place when production take precedence over people.
23
“Paint your vision in 4K.” Paul E Tsika II
24
Level 3: Production/Results
Maxwell says, “To help people grow you should help them allocate their time accordingly: 80% of the time on tasks within your strengths zone 15% of your time on tasks within your learning zone 5% on work outside your strengths zone And 0% within your weakness zone
25
Level 3: Production/Results
What separates true leaders from people who simply occupy leadership positions, is PRODUCTION!
26
Level 3: Production/Results
Good leaders always find a way to make things happen. Leaders Get Results. Leaders make a significant impact on an organization. Leaders are productive individually. Leaders are able to help the team produce. Leaders can’t fake Level 3.
27
Level 3: Production/Results
Am I producing for the organization and adding to its bottom line or am I not?
28
Producing RESULTS was not an option!
29
Level 3: Production/Results
The reason most people aren’t producing is because they lack: Self-discipline Work ethic Organizational Skills Skill sets to be productive
30
Level 3: Production/Results
Downside of this level. When the leader leaves the team, the results diminish because the team is dependent on the leader for achieving results. To avoid leaving the team “firmly planted in mid-air,” it is critical for the leader to grow to the fourth level of leadership.
32
Level 4: People Development/Reproduction
LEADERSHIP BASED ON REPRODUCTION. The ability to create: Highly productive team Highly productive departments Highly productive organizations
33
Level 4: People Development/Reproduction
Delegate don’t DUMP! Maxwell suggest you delegate your task when somebody else can do the same task with 80% or more of your efficiency.
34
Level 4: People Development/Reproduction
Level 4 leaders should put only 20% of their focus on their personal productivity while putting 80% of it on developing and leading others. The biggest challenge of the level 4 leader is to put other people´s personal growth before your own.
35
Level 4: People Development/Reproduction
Individual’s Potential > Production Achieved = SUCCESS IP > PA = S There is no SUCCESS with SUCCESSORS!
36
Level 4: People Development/Reproduction
When you help develop a person to become more successful, they have a tendency to be VERY loyal.
37
Level 4: People Development/Reproduction
Good leaders on Level 4 invest their: Time Energy Money Thinking into growing others as leaders.
38
Level 5: Pinnacle/Respect
LEADERSHIP BASED ON RESPECT.
39

A leader is a person with a magnet in his heart and a compass in his head. Vance Hainer Level 5: Pinnacle/Respect
40
Level 5: Pinnacle/Respect
Level 5 leaders long to leave a legacy. Level 5 leaders are the ones that spend their time creating leaders that create more leaders.
41
Level 5: Pinnacle/Respect
True leaders don't invest in buildings. Jesus never built a building. They invest in people. Why? Because success without a successor is failure. So, your legacy should not be in buildings, programs, or projects; your legacy must be in people. Myles Monroe Level 5: Pinnacle/Respect
42
Level 5: Pinnacle/Respect
There should be a “Leadership Factory” in every organization led by level 5 leaders. “Leadership Pipeline”
43
Level 5: Pinnacle/Respect
A level 5 leader must be great at the other 4 levels. A level 5 leader will have a high degree of skill. A level 5 leader will have some natural ability.
44
Level 5: Pinnacle/Respect
Pinnacle leaders: They stand out in a crowd. They are a cut above. They bring success with them wherever they go.
45
Level 5: Pinnacle/Respect
Pinnacle Leaders, Level 5 Leaders, lead so well for so long that they create a legacy of leadership in the organization they serve.
46
Level 5: Pinnacle/Respect
With gratitude and humility, they should: Lift up as many leaders as they can Tackle as many great challenges as possible Extend their influence to make a positive difference beyond their own organization and industry.
48
The 5 Levels of Leadership
Sum It All Up Growth from one level to another is done slowly and methodically. All 5 levels are built one on top of each other. Only when leaders are effective enough at the previous levels, can they take the step to the next level. By taking it one level at a time, no knowledge or experience is lost, and the leader continues to improve themselves.
49
The 5 Levels of Leadership
Questions: Which of the 5 levels am I at? How can I implement this training on the 5 Levels of Leadership to go to the next level? What are your signposts for success?
