9 “I would have no place else to go” “I always wanted to get my degree”
The Whys Limited Alternatives to Baccalaureate Degree Attainment, especially rural students “I would have no place else to go” Neither Difference nor Disadvantage to Obtaining a Community College Baccalaureate Degree “I always wanted to get my degree” The Community College Baccalaureate Degree as Key to Economic Stability “I am doing this for myself and my family, if I get this degree then my kids will know that they can do it too Limited alternatives Align with Grothe in that he fund cc’s helped to overcome situational barriers adults fund them in. Manias 16% not going elsewhere. 20% Ruud et al said adults struggle to find appropriate solutions to HE Walker and Fanelli…wrote anecdotally about this. Adults look for flexibility (Kasworm 2003) Linda didn’t meet deadline but someone let her in anyway. Communality Lends support to Collins (2009). Faculty know my name. Respect/ class schedule Howell found that adult students felt marginalized on college campuses. In my study all studes said they were comfortable, said hey were more alike than not (except 2) Neither difference : contest Campbell, Lane, Campbell concern for quality. Supports Manias,
