When a cell captures the energy in sunlight and uses it to make food

3. Photosynthesis: Step1
Plants & other organisms capture & use energy from the sun’s sunlight
Occurs in plants in the leaves & other green parts of the plant

4. Chloroplasts Located in plant cells that give plants their green color
Green color comes from pigments, that are colored chemical compounds that absorb light

5. Chlorophyll
Main pigment found in the chloroplasts of plants

6. Photosynthesis: Step2
The cell uses the captured energy to produce sugars
The cell always needs H20 and carbon dioxide

7. Stomata
Small opening where carbon dioxide enters the plant on the underside of the leaves
Once in the leaves, the H20 and carbon dioxide move into the chloroplasts
