4 Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association
GLTPA is a 501C(6) non-profit, two state organization representing over 1,000 members and their 14,000 employees.  Membership includes loggers, log truckers, foresters, and landowners, sawmills, oriented strand board mills, pulp and paper mills, sportsmen and women, equipment sales/manufacturers, road commissions, and school districts throughout Michigan and Wisconsin.

7 GLTPA Board Number, Criteria for and Election of Directors:
The Board shall consist of up to twenty-seven (27) voting persons who meet the requirements of this section 4.2 and any other qualifications that are established by the Board from time to time (the “Directors”). At all times at least a majority of the Directors shall be logging or log trucking contractors. All of the Directors shall be Regular Members in good standing The Board shall elect thirteen (13) Directors in accordance with Section The Board shall elect Directors to represent the following: One (1), or more if needed to create a majority on the Board, of logging or log-trucking contractors; Three (3) at large positions, except that one (1) or more if needed create a majority on the Board of logging or log trucking contractors. One (1) representative of a conservation organization that promotes sustainable forest management practices as part of their mission; One (1) forest landowner; One (1) representative of a forestry-related government agency; One (1) college/university level forestry educator; Four (4) representatives of forest industry mills, two of whom are from Michigan and two of whom are from Wisconsin. In addition, two of these representatives will represent bolt/pulp consuming mills and two will represent log consuming mills; Two (2) representatives from forestry related equipment manufacturers or equipment dealers; and One (1) representative from a railroad transportation company. 8 The Forest Industry Safety & Training Alliance (FISTA) is a nationally recognized, 501C(3) non-profit safety training and education organization for the forest industry

9 Foresters Highway Departments Correctional Facilities Municipalities
FISTA is well known for its hands-on Chainsaw Safety Training program, which has been conducted in hundreds of locations in Wisconsin and nationwide and for a large range of groups including: Loggers Landowners Foresters Highway Departments Correctional Facilities Municipalities Conservation Districts U.S. Forest Service State Forestry Depts and many more…. Any group that utilizes chain saws will benefit from this training. In Wisconsin, FISTA provides Forest Industry Personnel training & education opportunities and maintains a database of trained forestry personnel for the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®). All SFI® training is conducted in accordance with the annual Training Standard. This training in Wisconsin includes: Best Management Practices (BMP) for Water Quality, BMP for Invasive Species and annual Continuing Education requirements

10 FISTA Board of Directors
Number and Qualifications of Directors. The board shall consist of no fewer than five (5) and no more than fifteen (15) directors, as determined from time to time by resolution of the board. At least a majority of the directors shall be logging/log trucking contractors. At least one director shall also be a member of GLTPA board of directors, who shall serve on the board only as long as he/she remains a director of GLTPA. The Voting Member may prescribe other qualifications from time to time.
