3 Grade Level Expectation
Minimum Fourth Grade Expectations: -Master each Florida Standard at 70% or greater in all core content areas taught. -Attain a grade equivalent (GE) score of 5.0 by the end of the year on an individualized assessment in the subjects of math and ELA. -Read with accuracy and fluency equal to fourth-grade end-of-year expectations. Score at Level 3 or higher on the Florida Standards Assessment in both mathematics and ELA. school district website

 Letter Grades Leon County Schools sets expectations for each area of study based on the standards established by the State of Florida. You can access the state standards at Schools use all available Letter Grades and values  A  - 90% proficiency B  - 80% proficiency C  - 70% proficiency D  - 60% proficiency F   - Less than 60% proficiency

7 Homework Nightly practice (Mon.-Thurs.)
Students should write on their homework log daily Students should be able to complete independently If child is frustrated, please have your child see the teacher. **If homework is a struggle, please let us know.** Valid excuses are not extracurricular activities; we mean that the student spent 50 minutes trying to accomplish his/her assignments, and this is their best effort in those 50 minutes; missing a flipped lesson is detrimental b/c that is the lesson for that day!! We do rotations based on what was practiced at that video

8 Field Trips The 4th Grade has 4 Field Trips St. Marks-10/29 & 10/30
Mission San Luis- 10/8 Blended Lives- 2/10/20 Museum of Florida History 3/10 & 3/11 St. Augustine- TBD Chaperones must have volunteer clearance (online application) Students must have a permission slip on file. ** If a child has more than one Time Out Center infractions in the school year, then a decision will be made by the teachers and administration as to whether he/she be allowed to go on any field trips.

The area model of multiplication is a conceptual method that shows how multiplication works and the importance of understanding place value In fifth grade, students are expected to use the “short cut method,” but in 4th grade, students are expected to use the area model to ensure that they understand how multiplication works

Independent writing Sharing Students will work through the writing process with guidance from teacher and peers. Our goal is to complete 1-2 detailed pieces throughout the quarter. Mock FSA writing
