(WK 2) 1. There are 2,827 baseballs to be stored in boxes that hold 18 balls. How many boxes can be completely filled? 147 boxes 157 boxes 158 boxes 168 boxes A school bus can carry 35 students and there are 318 students going on a field trip. How many buses are needed for the field trip? 8 buses 9 buses 10 buses 11,130 buses 3. Kenzie’s mom told her she could go to the movies after she finished helping her dad in the yard. At the petting zoo George saw goats, calves and baby pigs. There are 4 goats. There are 4 times as many calves as goats, and there are 2 fewer baby pigs than calves. How many animals did George see at the petting zoo? 10 animals 24 animals 30 animals 34 animals

8 Constructed Response - 4 pts.
(WK 2) 50 ÷ – 3 Part A: Solve the problem above. Use what you know about order of operations to explain how you found your answer. 1 pt. - The answer is 30. 1pt. - I found the answer by dividing first, because in the order of operations, division comes before addition or subtraction. After that I added then subtracted, because order of operations says that you solve from left to right when the operations are equally important. Part B: Explain, using what you know about order of operations, how the problem above can be changed to get an answer of 2. Hint: You will need to add parenthesis. 1 pt. - Put parenthesis around 1 pt. - You need parenthesis because those must be solved first according to the order of operations. With the parenthesis, you have to add before you divide, which changes the problem.
