You can access the Student Portal: On Via the main Learn page. And search for ‘Student Portal’. Select ‘Executive Education Registered Students Portal’ Groupwork Each of four groups has been assigned one aspect of the Student Portal to examine; and you have a handout with a list of questions / topics to address. Explore the Student Portal. Discuss the questions/topics. Prepare a 3-5 minute presentation for the rest of the group. Hand out to each group their respective questions. If you do not have access to the Word documents, paste each set of the following questions onto separate sheets of paper and photocopy. 1. VPN and IT links On the lboro.ac.uk website, google ‘vpn’. Access the information for students: how to download and the FAQs. Read, discuss, make sure you understand the details. Most importantly: if you are connected using the VPN (Cisco), you will be able to access journal articles through Google Scholar and other search engines, without having to use your Athens password every time. Once you are on the lboro.ac.uk website, search for ‘eduroam’, select the page for IT Services: Students. Skim. For your presentation: Explain what the VPN is, what it allows you to do. Show the other students how to access and download the VPN app Explain the possible difficulties, e.g. company firewalls. Explain eduroam. 2. Student handbook Find the handbook and browse. Agree in your group three topics within the handbook to include in your presentation. Don’t cover assessment and re-assessment: another group will do this. Find at least one useful tip or idea from the Student Handbook about each of your chosen three topics. Explain where the student handbook can be found. Do not read out all the contents – but do give an idea of some of them. Present in more detail your chosen three topics 3. Learn From the Student Portal, access ‘My modules’. Note that you can access this page direct on Browse. Go onto the Learn page for this module, BSPA10 ‘Personal Values and Effectiveness’. Identify links on the page that you think are useful.
