4 Aerodynamics The vehicle will include streamline wheels to reduce drag during flight. Wheels resemble those used on Bonneville slat flats racers. Large telescopic wings will create large amounts of lift .

5 Flap Placement Due to our constraints, our ailerons for roll center are going to be placed close to the nose while the elevator and rudder systems will be traditionally placed at the rear.

6 Styling Our base design is using the iconic styling and bold lines of the 99’ Chevy nomad (concept). Which was an attempt at restyling and resurrecting the iconic nomad of the 50’s. Large capacity vehicle yet still stylish. Drawing by James Patrick

7 Rear window and rear roof section fold in for more air intake to the fan motor.
Fan will be placed in rear and be able to be hidden by rear hatch.

8 Features Telescopic Wings
Wing System Features Telescopic Wings

9 About the telescopic wing
functions and cost: Extend from the roof of the car via electric servo motors hidden inside the wings. Roughly $2,500 per wing.

13 Telescopic Wing Advantages
Extend to keep the width low. The telescopic wing is lighter than a fixed wing. It is more sturdy being that it has support throughout the whole thing.

14 Engine We are going with a biodiesel engine to promote green technology. Diesel Engines produce more torque while maintaining relatively low revolutions per minute.

15 Engine

16 DriveShaft One of the problems with creating a car that transforms into an airplane was transferring the torque from the rear wheels to the fan.

17 Driveshaft to Propeller
Gearbox Driveshaft to Propeller Engine Gearbox/ Switch Driveshaft Driveshaft to Wheels The red gearbox can transfer engine power to the Propeller driveshaft or the wheel driveshaft.

18 Drive Shaft An additional vertical driveshaft will be installed to the rear gear differential along with a transfer case to turn the fan.
