4. Good to be Green
We believe that children should develop good discipline through positive encouragement and instruction whilst understanding their rights and responsibilities within the school setting.
All pupils have the right to feel safe at school; the right to learn and the right to be respected and to have fair outcomes.
The ‘Good to be Green’ scheme is an effective way of promoting positive behaviour, rewarding those children who consistently chose to display positive choices, and is a means of being able to track those pupils who find it harder to make positive choices throughout the day. It is a fair and consistent approach and ensures that pupils know the rules and behaviour expected in school regardless of what classroom they are in or who is teaching them.
The scheme is very visual, with child friendly resources which allow our children to easily see how they are doing in class.
We believe that it is important to promote a positive message regarding behaviour management at all times- ‘Good to be Green’ is a means of promoting our high expectations of positive behaviour throughout our school community.

5. Good to be Green How it works:
Every child starts each session with a green card displayed in their pocket of the Class Chart.
If, during a lesson or at break times, a child has to be warned of poor choices , then the child will be given a visual warning and then a 'stop and think’ card. These warnings give the child the opportunity to reflect, consider and review their behaviour.
If a child continues to display poor behaviour choices, the child will be given a ‘yellow card’ and will lose 3 minutes of break or lunchtime play.
If a child continues to display unacceptable behaviour, the child will be given a ’red card’ and will lose 5 minutes of Club Friday.
Children will be given an instant ‘red card’ for breaking one of the 5 non-negotiables (*insert non-negotiables*)
Every child has the opportunity to return to green before reaching a yellow or red card, and will always return to ‘Green’ at the start of each session.

8. Homework Reading – Children are expected to read 3 times a week.
Children will also be encouraged read full books in order to complete the Reading Challenge (** reads).
Maths – Children need to use TT Rockstars throughout the week.
Spellings – Spellings will be set every Tuesday with a test the following week.
Children have to opportunity to take any lesson sheets home for extra practice.

9. Year 6 SATs SAT tests are in May 2020. Mock tests started this week.
Other mock tests are week 2 after each holiday until Easter.
CGP books will go home after October half-term for question practice and rewards for completion.
We will have a SATs meeting before Christmas to explain the process and update progress.
The Residential will take place after May SATs and a separate meeting for all going will be in Spring.

10. PE Indoor PE Sparrows and Falcons - Wednesday Outdoor PE
Sparrows and Falcons - Thursday
Please ensure that you child has their PE kit in school Monday to Friday.
The PE kit must consist of the following:
Plain blue or school PE t-shirt
Navy Shorts
Black or White Socks
Trainers with Support
Jumper and Joggers for cold weather
Earrings need to be taken out or covered with tape during lessons.

11. Expectations Uniform:
Hair needs to be tied up if it comes down past the collar.
Children should not come to school with nail varnish or make up on. This includes transfer tattoos. 
Food and Drink:
Children should only be bringing in water to drink in their class water bottles. Juice will be disposed of.
Breaktime snacks should only be fresh fruit or vegetables.
School Equipment:
No pencil cases or toys should be brought into school. 
Backpacks need to be a sensible size.
Only Years 5 and 6 are allowed to bring in a mobile phone which will be collected and stored by the teacher in the morning. No mobile phones should be seen on school premises.
Diary and home reading books need to be in school everyday.
