Calculated exhaled equivalents of ambient air concentration (b; taking account of the conditioning factor Γ; see Methods section) can be compared with the values measured in subjects without inhalation filter (c). Moreover, the calculated exhaled equivalents of ambient air concentration with inhalation filter (d; taking account of the conditioning factor Γ and filter efficiency F; see Methods section) can be compared with the values measured in subjects using the inhalation filter (e).
