2. Warm Up Discussion:
In your table groups, discuss what constitutes wetlands
Do we have them in California?

3. Instructions:
Today in class you will be creating a collaborative CER based on an article about wetlands
Each table group will have the same article to read and write on (make sure you write your name and period on it)
You will start by reviewing your CER document found on page 7 in your Notebook
Next, silently read the article one time
While reading, use a red colored pencil to underline the Claim, a green colored pencil to underline the evidence, and write your proposed reasoning in blue
Once you have finished this part of the assignment, collaborate with your group to determine the Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning; you also need to produce 5 vocabulary words with definitions; this will require a second reading

5. Creating the CER
For the poster you will need to divide up the work among the following tasks:
Illustrator: draws the picture and the border
Claim writer
Evidence writer
Reasoning writer
Vocabulary definition researcher and writer
Each person will write their name and tasks on the back of the poster
You will also write a letter grade next to their name and task they did
This will hold all collaborators accountable for the work they did
