Registrar’s office at Naamsestraat 22 (or KU Loket when former KU Leuven student) Faculty of Economics and Business

4 MASE versus Doctum Colloquium
Students who pass for the MASE get an official Master’s degree (KU Leuven diploma). Students who pass for the MASE with at least distinction are admitted to the PhD programme, under the condition that they have a promotor. Students admitted directly to the PhD programme follow the MASE programme as a Doctum Colloquium. The student does not get an official MASE degree, he/she gets a certificate from the Faculty. Faculty of Economics and Business

5 MASE versus Doctum Colloquium
Students who already followed an Advanced Research Master’s programme can get a reduced Doctum Colloquium programme or be exempted for the Doctum Colloquium. Exemptions for individual courses in the Doctum Colloquium are possible, under the condition that the courses already followed are at an Advanced Master’s or PhD level. Students need to have distinction in the Doctum Colloquium to continue with the PhD programme. Faculty of Economics and Business

8 MASE programme: Core courses
Master’s project Advanced Econometrics Dynamic Methods Advanced Microeconomics II Advanced Macroeconomics II Research Workshop Students have to take all these courses. If a student has already taken one or more of these courses, he/she cannot take the course again/exempt it. In that case the student takes additional courses from the list of Electives. Faculty of Economics and Business

9 MASE programme: Electives
Students supplement their programme with electives to a minimum of 60 ECTS. None of these courses can be followed by students who have already taken this or a similar course and no exemptions can therefore be given for one of these courses if it has been added to the Individual Study Programme. In addition to the list of elective courses, electives can be taken from other Research Master Programmes at KU Leuven or other universities. These electives should be approved.
