14 Gaining skills and hands-on experience you work towards a qualification that is valued by industry and can get your career moving. Modern Apprenticeships are designed with industry – so the skills apprentices learn are the ones that employers want.

to Masters Equivalent to: HND to Ordinary Degree Higher Advanced Higher National 5 There are four different levels of qualification available from National 5 to Honours or Masters degree level – so there are opportunities to progress and develop.

16 A real job that earns you real pay.
Modern Apprenticeships and Graduate Apprenticeships are jobs with structured training. Employers pay the wages and SDS contributes towards the cost of training. UK Government sets the national minimum wage for apprentices – but many employers pay above this.

17 Modern Apprenticeships
There are a massive range of apprenticeships available depending on what you want to do - everything from engineering and construction to health and social care, automotive and digital technology. Entry requirements vary considerably based on what the job is and what the employer is looking for. Apprenticeships are not just for boys – last year 41 per cent of apprentices were females. Different apprenticeships take different lengths of time to complete – some can take up to four years. Here are 26 of them……..

Again these will vary from employer to employer and university to university.
