PowerPoint Template – delete this slide
Fill in the appropriate slides Minimum font size is 20 point. Remove any bold or italicized words after you’ve added your changes Delete slides that say, “delete this slide” when you are ready to submit After you’ve filled out the template, then you may add themes, colors and animations (not required). Remember, animations should not deter from the flow of the presentation!

Project Overview Write a paragraph of 4-8 well developed sentences which provide a brief overview/summary of your project to include the following: State and explain the purpose. What are you trying to find out? Why did you choose this topic? (Why important to you?) State the real life applications. (Why interesting to others?) What was your original problem/question? (HINT: Look back at your “green packet”, reflections, research notes and refer to your “My Project Summary and Personal Relevance” assignment.)

Background Research Prior Research goes here. Use as many slides are you need. Single spaced Size 24 font

Background Research Continued
8
Works Cited / Bibliography
Be sure to include print and electronic sources and put them in alphabetical order. You must also cite any graphics or photos used.
9
Key Science Words (Glossary)
List and define 5 or more key higher level vocabulary words/concepts which DIRECTLY relate to your project and/or research. Example: Salinity – the measure of all the dissolved salts in water. Usually measured in parts per thousand (ppt). The average ocean salinity is 35ppt.
10
Problem Single spaced Size 24 font
11
Proposed Solution The design and construction of a (engineering project) for (user) to do (some function). Single spaced Size 24 font
12
Design Criteria and Constraints
Criteria define the product’s physical and functional characteristics and must be declared as a measurable quantity. Examples: length, mass, velocity, performance, and ruggedness, etc. Constraints are factors that limit the engineer’s flexibility. Examples: cost, time, climate, materials, where the product will be used, appearance, and physical features.
13
Test Plan When making your test plan, keep in mind what has been done in the past from your prior research and your design criteria and constraints. Solar Powered Scooter Test Plan Example: Transport up to 35 kg rider Test plan: Transport a 35 kg load Speed of at least 8 km/h on level surfaces Test plan: 100m distance should take less than 45 seconds Travels through 10 meters of shade Test plan: Charge up battery. With 35kg rider, ride through 10m of shade

Materials The materials should be bulleted Single spaced Size 24 font
15
Prototype Discuss your design and include construction diagrams

16
Data/Log Book Copy and paste from Excel. Don’t forget to include your summarizes (single spaced, 24 font). Solar Scooter Example Transport 35 kg rider. Exceeds test plan: Maximum mass transported Speed. Exceeds test plan: Measure and plot speed vs. rider mass Travels through shade. Exceeds test plan: Measure and plot distance in shade travel vs. rider mass Extra knowledge: Solar energy, storing energy, electric motor torque, gears
17
Graph Copy and paste from Excel. Don’t forget to include your summarizes (single spaced, 24 font).
