5 History of UCSF UCSF was founded as Toland Medical College in 1864, and in 1873 affiliated itself with the University of California, becoming it’s Medical Department. In the same year, it incorporated the California College of Pharmacy and in it established the School of Dentistry. It’s facilities were located in both Berkeley and San Francisco.

WarnMe is UCSF’s alert and warning system for faculty, staff and students. It is activated when there is an immediate threat to safety or health affecting the campus community. WarnMe can alert you by phone, text message or – you choose the best ways to reach you.

Current Users: 52,000 (UCSF San Francisco and UCSF Fresno) Migration to Everbridge system as 3rd party vendor with addition of the following groups: UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals Oakland (BCHO) will add 4,000 users UC Hastings will add 2,000 users Hospice By the Bay will add 1,000 users
