English Language Arts Informational - 35% Standards related to Nonfiction Text Literature - 35% Standards related to Fictional Text Foundational - 20% Standards related to Phonics/Word Analysis Standards related to Accuracy and Fluency Will be monitored using running records and DIBELS assessments Language/Writing - 10% Standards related to Writing Standards related to Vocabulary in Context Standards related to Grammar Standards related to Spelling Standards related to Cursive

14 What does Progress towards Mastery of Individual Grade Level Standards look like?
Grade Level Standards are end of the year goals Expected to be met independently by each student before the end of the school year Progress towards end of year goals may vary from student to student Progress may sometimes differ from grading average because each standard is looked at independently + = making sufficient progress towards end of the year goals - = making insufficient progress towards end of the year goals

15 What other Information is Included on the Report Card?
Behaviors that Support Learning S – Satisfactory - Consistently demonstrates the behavior N – Needs Improvement – Inconsistently demonstrates the behavior U – Unsatisfactory - Rarely demonstrates the behavior and learning is affected Science, Social Studies, Health, Technology, Spanish, Art, Music, PE, Handwriting 3 – Consistently demonstrates mastery of the standard 2 – Sufficient progress toward mastery of the standard by end of year 1 – Insufficient progress toward mastery of the standard by end of year

16 How will parents be notified of your child’s progress?
Progress Reports will go home every three weeks AFTER the first six weeks of school. Reports Cards will be sent home at the end of each grading period. Grading Period Ends 1st Nine Weeks – October 5, 2018 2nd Nine Weeks – December 21, 2018 3rd Nine Weeks – March 8, 2019 4th Nine Weeks – May 23, 2019 Report Cards Sent Home 1st Nine Weeks – October 11, 2018 2nd Nine Weeks – January 10, 2019 3rd Nine Weeks – March 14, 2019 4th Nine Weeks - May 23, 2019
