1 Reading Ambassador Program
Read Together Intro Reading Ambassador Program This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services grant # LG

2 Anyone can be a Storyteller!
We usually think of Adults as family storytellers, but they’re not the only ones that make great storytellers! Try older brothers and sisters, even younger brothers and sisters, too! Storytelling is different from reading at school or at work—it’s about HAVING FUN and making each other LAUGH. We want to teach you about a way to tell stories that works on any book: even if you don’t know the language, even if you don’t know how to read yet!

3 You are not reading the story; you are talking about it
You are not reading the story; you are talking about it. You don’t need to look at the words. Look at the cover. Point out the title and author. Talk about the illustrator. Ask what we think the story is about. MODEL PIC WALK: “Walk” through the book, page by page. Talk about the characters and predict what might happen to them. Name the pictures so that your reading buddy can learn new words. Make a guess about how the book will end. Turn the page to see if you’re right!
