2 What is CORD? (Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development)
A project to provide basic health services to remote villages located in Rural India A training center for women in leadership skills in socio-economic, health, educational and environmental programs An organization helping villagers with income generation schemes so that they can become self-sufficient

CORD-SIDHBARI situated in the village of Sidhbari, Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh. CORD-DEULADIHA located in Deuladiha village, Telkoi Block, Keonjhar District of Odisha. CORD-KAZA Orphanage for girls located in Kaza, Andra Pradesh CORD-LATHIKATA Located at Lathikata Odisha. CORD-SIRUVANI Situated in Thennamanallur, near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu CORD-THAMARAIPAKKAM Situated in Elapuram near Chennai, Tamil Nadu CORD-SRI LANKA Situated Sri Lanka and operates from Colombo and Ramboda The Siddhabari program has inspired other energized leaders to replicate its success in other parts of India and Sri Lanka- each operating with a similar enthusiasm and zeal. We have sent Service Visit students to every CORD Center in India Summer and Winter visits High School students with chaperons CORDUSA-CHYK service visits Sri Lanka in 2015 with Swami Sarveshananda Lathikata in 2016 with Swami Sharanananda Collaborative visits with Global Organizations GLOBEMED Partnership visits every year since 2012 Over 400 students visited different CORD centers through CORD USA Service Visits!

11 Youth Involvement : a synopsis
It all started by a group of student and a parent visiting Deuladiha for Service Visit… As a precursor to their visit, fundraiser for solar lamps Given goal was to raise $800 Students raised $6000 using social media! Energized a small group locally to conduct Summer Camps Public Speaking, Lego Robotics, Cooking, Knitting, Field Day… Offered & coordinated by JCHYKs Students fully funded the Solar inverter for CORD Deuladiha With last year’s summer camp funds Enterprising projects by JCHYKs and CHYKs Planning, decision making - all done by them Leadership to pick up the mantle

13 CORD Tamaraipakkam office building
Ashram premises too crowded with temple, medical center, Harihara Vidyalaya school, residential units for acharyas. CORD is expanding and there is a need for space for CORD work and training centers Sharing same campus as ashram compromises the privacy and ambience of ashram There is a need for a Disability rehabilitation center given that there are more than 100 differently abled persons in CORD groups, who do not have access to a rehabilitation center. A sample organic garden and demo toilet can be part of the office building Gurudhara self help group is expanding and the products made by the SHGs and organic farm produce need retail space. Vocational Training centers are growing and need space to expand Gurudhara self help group is providing employment to more and more rural women, so more space is needed for the tailoring production center to expand.

Land adjacent to the Ashram has been identified as potential space to construct a dedicated CORD Facility Dedicated CORD Facility is vital to enable growth and expansion of rural development program Land identified for purchase ~ 0.25 acres DTCP Approval done Fine-print is with our Legal now Cost estimate for land and construction of CORD office building - $185,000 Bottleneck Directorate of Town and Country Planning, Government of Tamil Nadu needs to approve every land purchase.
