1 Mtt 6:9-13 / Lk 11:1-4 The Lord’s Prayer
Jesus was asked by one of His disciples to teach them to pray not how to cast out demons/not how to heal/not how to preach Jesus’ pray life spoke volumes to those around Him He prayed: immediately after His baptism He spent all night in prayer before his selection of apostles He was praying just before the Transfiguration As large crowds gathered around Him – He would slip away into the wilderness and pray Many other times Scripture mentions His prayers

2 Mtt 6:9 Pray this way: Our Father who is in heaven,
Mtt 6:9 Pray this way: Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name Father – Rom 8: For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, theses are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God. Gal 4:6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” “Hallowed” be your name: Ex 20:7,8 (3rd & 4th Commandments)

3 Mtt 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven
Mtt 3:2 John the Baptist is proclaiming: Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand Gethsemane: “Thy will be done.” Jer 31:33,34 The Lord makes a covenant with His people that He will forgive them their iniquity, remember their sins not more and will write His law within them and on their hearts and all will know Him from the least to the greatest.

Mtt 5:23,24 brother has something against you – go make it right before presenting your gift at altar

6 Mtt 18 Parable King forgives slave for 10,000 talents and slave then goes out and puts into prison another fellow slave that owed 100 denarii = king’s anger and first slave to be tortured until payment made John 8 woman caught in adultery: “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone.” ANY sin = being on the same footing as adultery Lk 23:43 “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

tempted = trial, afflictions, tests Mtt 4:1 Jesus led to wilderness to be tempted Jas 1:13,14 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God” – for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.
