2. Code had 282 laws most laws were unfair to women some laws were harsh
very powerful
brought together all the city-states under one law

3. One Harsh Law
Law Number 6- If man has stolen goods from temple, or house, he shall be put to death

4. This is not fair!
Law Number 153- If a man’s wife, for sake of another, has caused her husband to be killed, that woman shall be impaled

5. That’s Better
Law Number 221- If a surgeon has cured the limb of a patrician, or has doctored a diseased bowel, the patient shall pay five shekels of silver to the surgeon

6. Cuneiform
Cuneiform was the ancient writing of the Mesopotamians. They used this writing to write books, laws, and letters. This was very important to King Hammurabi because this is how he wrote his set of laws.

7. Summary
The Code of Hammurabi is a set of laws brought to together to help govern the city of Babylon. Hammurabi had some fair and harsh laws
