6 What is Proper/Improper to post?
The new “First Impression” Judging Books vs Facebook Direct reflection on the Fraternity Dating and professional sites wearing paraphernalia Discussions / Arguments / Disagreements / Politics Social Media has become one of the first places people go to see who you really are! This includes, but is not limited to potential new friends, potential new Employers, Potential Dates, References (imagine a potential employer checking your fb page only to find you and your best reference on your application obviously intoxicated!) We are often told not to judge a book by its cover. However, we often judge a person by their FaceBook “Cover”. Remember, we are a direct reflection on the Fraternity. Just like those little discs on the back of our cars… we have “tell tale” signs on our Social Media Pages. (tell car tag story) Tell story about Positive posting and representation… Dating sites (Match vs Tinder/Fet) and Professional sites (Linkedin, etc) Wearing logos, etc We need to remember this when we have discussions about politics, religion, or even just a discussion about anything! The Layperson will see your opinion and the Square and Compass and automatically associate the two…. “Ohhh, so THAT’s how the Illuminati think!!!” How many of you have blood brothers and sisters? Brothers and Sisters always fight more fiercely against one another! Just remember, on Social Media, you need to remember the WORLD is reading what you write! That can be very powerful! Especially if you are being rude or derogatory. (Perspective Candidates, family, friends, etc can all see these comments). Tell story about arguments, etc… Recruiting tools
