Matthew 21:28-30
28 “What do you think? A man had two sons, and he went to the first and said, ’Son, go and work in the vineyard today. And he answered ”I will not” but afterwards he changed his mind and went. 30 And he went to the other son and said the same. And he answered, I go sir, ’ but did not go.

7. Which son is the good one in this story?

8. Son #1 Self Indulgent Sy Motive: I want to do what I want to do.
2. Verbal response: "I will not go!"
3. Heart/Mind response: Regret/Change of Mind.
4. Physical response: Obeys the Father.
Repentance: To change your mind and turn your direction.

9. Son #2 Self Righteous Saul
1. Motive: Self glorification
2. Verbal response: “I go sir.”
3. Heart/Mind response: I don’t need to do this.
4. Physical response: Did not go work.
Lack of obedience demonstrates a lack of trust and love for the father.

10. The Parable Explained Matthew 21:31-32
31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first” Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you.
32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him but the tax collectors and prostitutes believed him. And even when you saw it, you did not afterward change your minds and believe him.

sin and need for Him. Ask for forgiveness. (I John 1:9)
3. Resolve to walk out obedience to Him
with His help. (Galatians 5:16-26)
4. Rejoice in God’s mercy and grace. (Hebrews 4:16)
