2 CASA Programming Requirements
Academic Students receiving CASA services must attend a certain number of success skills workshops each semester. The Success Skills Workshops fall into 4 categories: Village Academic Social #adulting101 (formerly professional)

3 Requirements by Class Year
Class of 2023 and 2022 One VILLAGE One ACADEMIC One SOCIAL One #ADULTING101 One can be fulfilled by an event hosted by an office other than CASA. Must submit a SUBSTITUTE CREDIT FORM.

4 Requirements by Class Year
Class of 2021 and 2020 One VILLAGE OR SOCIAL Two #ADULTING101 One must be fulfilled by an event hosted by an office other than CASA. Submit a SUBSTITUTE CREDIT FORM to get credit.

5 Exceptions CASA students in the following programs/courses will only need to complete VILLAGE MEETING : ACE Program ASPD 2000 (or higher) course SSLC 4th hour IGR course This exception only applies to the semester they are enrolled in that program/course.

6 Village CASA Events: SMD/Scholarship Village Meeting
Retention Coaches’ Village Meetings GA Village Meetings Substitute Examples: NONE – Village meetings are only offered by CASA.

7 Academic CASA Events: Statistics and Calculus Workshops w/ Professor Chiacchiere (Math Dept.) Managing Your Readings w/Lynn Burke (LSS) Finding Your Thesis w/Tim Carr (Writing Center) CASA Midterm and Finals Study Halls Substitute Examples: Office Hours w/ Professors Individual Appointments w/ LSS Staff Meetings w/ Subject Librarians Research Symposium NOTE: Tutoring sessions will not count for Academic credit.

9 #adulting101 (formerly PROFESSIONAL)
Events that prepare students for internships, jobs, fellowships, year of service, and career exploration OR develop skills to help students navigate life after college CASA Events: Career Fair Prep Workshop Graduate School Application Workshop LinkedIn and Handshake Workshop Taxes & 401k Workshop Substitute Examples: VSB, COE, CON Professional Development Events Networking/Mentoring Events (e.g., BRIDGE Society Events) Appointments w/ Career Center, CRF, or Pre-Health Professions Advisors Employer Info Sessions Fellowship Info Sessions (Truman, Fulbright, etc.)

10 Ad Hoc Office Guests Ann Trail Pre-Health Professions Advisor
Office for Undergraduate Students (OUS) Provides assistance with: Exploring health professions Course planning for pre-reqs Study strategies for math and science Experiential pre-health opportunities Health profession graduate school application process Meetings with Ann count for #adulting101 credit. Her hours may resume in the spring.

11 Ad Hoc Office Guests Jhaakira Jacobs
Assistant Director of Career Development The Career Center Provides assistance with: Career exploration/planning Interview prep Resumes and cover letters Career Fair prep Meetings with Jhaakira count for #adulting101 credit.

12 Ad Hoc Office Guests Kate Szumanski
Director of Professional Development Office for Undergraduate Students (OUS) Provides assistance with: Career exploration/planning Finding internships Getting academic credit for internships Networking/mentoring Meetings with Kate count for #adulting101 credit.

13 Ad Hoc Office Guests Deborah Bishov, Sarah Hughes, Sarah Wingo, and Susan Turkel Subject Librarians Favley Library Provide assistance with: Writing a thesis Research papers Helping students who feel stuck on a topic Librarian meetings count for academic credit.

14 Ad Hoc Office Guests Office of Education Abroad (OEA) Rotating Staff
Provides assistance with: Selecting study abroad programs Applying for study abroad Financing study abroad Meetings with an OEA staff member count for academic credit.

15 Substitute Credit Credit you receive for attending an event NOT hosted by CASA Fulfills an ACADEMIC, SOCIAL or #ADULTING101 credit Requires a Substitute Credit Form

16 1. Complete form. 2. Have event coordinator/ presenter sign and date bottom of form. 3. Return to CASA within 72 hours (3 business days) after event.

17 4. Place form in Substitute Credit Form folder.
