1 Phylogenetic positions of the Fe hydrogenases of termite gut symbionts.
Phylogenetic positions of the Fe hydrogenases of termite gut symbionts. The tree was inferred by the ML method by using amino acid sequences of the large subunit. Nar-like protein sequences that are related to Fe hydrogenase but do not catalyze hydrogenase reactions were used as the out-groups. The numbers at the nodes are the Bayesian posterior probabilities and the ML bootstrap values (separated by a slash). The four sequences from the gut symbionts of C. formosanus are labeled in bold letters. Protein database accession numbers are given after the organism names. The scale bar indicates 0.10 substitutions per site. Jun-Ichi Inoue et al. Eukaryotic Cell 2007; doi: /EC
