2 Sailing Terms bow port starboard stern Bow: front of the boat
Port: left side of the boat Starboard: right side of the boat Stern: back of the boat Capsize: boat turns over bow port starboard Teaching Idea: Pretend the classroom is a boat. Year 4: Compare angles and classify them as equal to, greater than or less than a right angle.

4 Year 5: Estimate, measure and compare angles using degrees
Year 5: Estimate, measure and compare angles using degrees. Construct angles using a protractor.

5 Year 3: Identify angles as measures of turn and compare angles and compare angle sizes in everyday situations. Year 5: Estimate, measure and compare angles using degrees. Construct angles using a protractor.
