1 TDW-13: 8-12th April 2019, Noumea, New Caledonia
Observer data Updates and TUFMAN2 - Obs data provision Obs data status What’s new in T2 Live demo to access data in T2 TDW-13: 8-12th April 2019, Noumea, New Caledonia

2 ISSUE : Monthly provision of PS observer data
ROP (observer) data ISSUE : Monthly provision of PS observer data Timely provision Increasing Lags Data provision This is an updated graph that was presented last year in order to report some issues on observer data provision. On top on the first graph you can see a good data provision in We started to receive the workbooks in June. (6months) On the second graph you can see a significant increase of the lag in data provision (1 year). This was the main issue to resolve last year. And on the last graph (data for 2018) you can see that the data provision was much better Since ROCW18 : trip report/journal/debriefing forms with the workbook (Usage of each)

3 Summary of PS trips entered by month
Tot. 474 (2018) Why is the data provision important? Here is a graph that shows the relation between the data provision and the data entry at SPC. This is the number of trips entered by month (green 2017 / black 2018) You can clearly see the delay in data entry for the 2017 data mainly because of the lag in data provision (green) This low coverage of data until mid 2018 had an impact on workshops (TDW, SC, TCC…) Thanks to the good provision this year … Tot. 226 (2017)

4 Data Status Summary of PS observer data
A quick update of the PS data status as of March Target of 1000 by end of May

5 PS – Debriefed trips Coverage of debriefing PS trips overs the past few years On top the numbers are reported in percentage and on bottom in total number of trips We can clearly see the increasing trend of debriefed trips from 13% in 2012 to almost 100% in 2018 This is a good improvement for the observer data quality Debriefers will have a face to face discussion with the observer to review the trip Trip is still fresh in the observer’s mind Give feedback

6 LL – Debriefed trips Similar graph with a similar trend for LL
Trend mostly driven by FJ because of their large fleet The missing 10% comes from NC and PF with NC that should start debriefing their trips next year

7 What’s new Tufman2 and others Tufman2 : Debriefing module
Tufman2 : Pole & Line “OLLO” for LL observer E-reporting Dorado : availability of observer data for reports Staffs movements Regarding the changes with T2: 2 new modules not used yet OLLO Observer longline e-reporting Initially requested by NC as they need an offline version of T2 (T2 online – NC still under TUBS) Regarding the availability of data in Dorado, we have re-developed all the processes for loading the data into Dorado You can expect to have data refreshed more often in Dorado Target of once a week

8 TUFMAN2 Debriefing module All versions supported Independent module
Automatic link between debriefing and workbook data Data Quality Checks On the features and capabilities : We can enter all the versions of the LL forms and PS forms It’s an independent module meaning that the debriefing data can be entered before or after the trip workbook And Tufman2 will automatically create a link between the debriefing data and the trip data, so that we can jump from one to the other DQC to compare automatic calculation of scores from T2 with the debriefier scores

9 Dorado Current process to refresh Dorado observer data Tufman2 obsv
WCPFC EM TO DW DORADO Current process Several databases for observer data Key point: Data in T2 not in Dorado Change of structure : unavailability of reports Refresh on demand NSD TUBS NC FJ

10 TUFMAN2 Checking data in T2 - Demo
