2. Summary of Canto
Dante and Virgil are in the 7th circle of Hell with the Sodomites. Here Dante meets three of his contemparies from Florence. They ask if the city is still the same. Dante tells them no. He recognizes them because they are well known in Florence. Dante and Virgil also hear the loud noise of the waterfall. At the end Virgil asks for Dante's cord and throws it into the water and the creature Geryon.
