2 Today’s Objectives By the end of this session, you will be able to…
Identify and utilize various tools that are at your disposal in the computer lab. This includes: - Netop Vision - Cyberlink PowerDirector and video cameras - Audacity and headsets w/mics - Adobe Master Collection CS4 and Web 2.0 tools

3 Computer Lab Reminders
You are welcome to sign up to use the computer lab throughout the year. This year, the computer lab is available during periods 2, 5, and 6. Please send an to both Kristen and I that indicates the dates and periods that you would like to use the lab.

4 Computer Lab Reminders
Every person in the computer lab should be logged into the network under their own account: No sharing of accounts is permitted. If a student does not yet have a computer account, please try and prepare paperwork for that student until an account has been created. Printing in color should be kept to a minimum: If the printout is not going to be displayed, please print in black and white or collect an electronic copy through the Groupshare folder.

5 Computer Lab Reminders
Please remind all students to save their work and log off of the computers before they leave the room: All headsets should be wrapped and returned to the back of the room if borrowed. No eating or drinking near the computers: Students should only eat and drink on the tables located in the back of the room.

7 Available Technology Netop Vision Software
Netop Vision is a classroom management software available for you to utilize while holding a class in the computer lab. This software allows you to control all computers in the lab remotely using the teacher’s computer located at the front of the lab.

8 Available Technology Cameras and Clickers
The computer lab is equipped with additional programs and devices for your technology integration needs. Cameras, video cameras, and clickers are available for sign out for class projects and presentations.

9 Video Editing Software
Available Technology Video Editing Software CyberLink PowerDirector allows users to import videos, music, images, and text into the application. Students can then utilize the timeline editor to piece together their own videos. I am available during lunch if anyone is interested in this software. I can also create packets to assist students when first learning how to use the program.

10 Audacity and Available Headsets
Available Technology Audacity and Available Headsets If CyberLink PowerDirector proves to be a little too much… you can always have students record podcasts instead! Audacity allows students to record their voices using a mic and headset and save the recording for future use.

11 Adobe Master Collection
Available Technology Adobe Master Collection The Adobe Master Collection CS4 is installed on all computers in the lab. Students can access Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator and much more. Please note that software does lag due to the large files associated with this collection.
