Areas under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves for both the training and testing data sets based on a number of hidden-layer perceptrons from 10 to 39. The largest median area under the ROC curve of the test set represented the optimal number of perceptions in the hidden layer. With the neuron numbers set to 19 in the hidden layer, the area under the ROC curve became ANN = artificial neural network.
