2. Factory Worker/Overseer Arguments
Spend ten minutes reading through your role and writing out your argument.
Factory Worker: Focus on why your work conditions are not acceptable and what you would like changed
Factory Overseer: Focus on why the factory needs to maintain current conditions and why your work “perks” are necessary

3. Negotiation Start by reading your roles out loud
Take turns sharing your arguments
Negotiate the best you can to please both parties. What can you both agree to change? What can you decide about the current conditions?
On a sheet of paper, keep track of what negotiations you make.
Each pair will share their negotiations with the class

4. Check Out (to earn points…)
Create a Venn Diagram that compares work conditions during the Industrial Revolution with today’s work conditions in the United States. Consider all aspects (hours, pay, benefits, general environment, punishments, etc.)
These need to be as detailed as possible and demonstrate your understanding of work conditions in both the Industrial Revolution and today’s world.
