Academic Press College/Career Readiness T-2-4 is our focus - getting students ready, in, and through Technical 2-year college 4-year college Access to rigorous coursework Students are encouraged to take at least one “stretch” course.

Advanced Placement 24 different AP classes offered (over 64 sections) 1,109 AP tests given in 2018 with 72% earning college credit 192 AP Scholars in 2018 (including 17 National Scholars) - the most of any other comprehensive high school in our area. PSAT ALL freshmen, sophomores, and juniors take the PSAT test 4 National Merit Semi-Finalists 2018, 1 Finalist Newsweek, WA Post, Daily Beast LC is listed as one of the nation’s best high schools.

The Counselor Role The counselor wears many hats:
Communication with parents, students, teachers Registration guidance Post-High School guidance Personal issues Appointments with counselors are easy to make and, if necessary, students can be seen immediately for support.

Middle school performance has a significant effect on how well a student will do in high school High school is a new beginning - an opportunity to determine his/her own success! Every class counts in high school - grades and attitude matter!

How to Help Your Student Be Successful
Consistent Attendance - your student needs to be here every day! Monitor progress - grades and attendance can be tracked in real time on PowerSchool Communicate frequently - if you have a question or issue, /call teachers as your first step as soon as an issue arises

What we know: students who are involved in high school activities: perform better in academic classes feel a greater sense of confidence and self- esteem have a higher attendance and graduation rate are less likely to get involved in drugs/alcohol

8th Grade Visit - May 31 All future Tigers are invited to our official visit to spend the morning at LC. We will communicate with our middle schools and via our parent regarding details of the visit. Students will tour our school, learn about our activity and athletics, and get a preview copy of their new schedule.

High School Credit for Middle School Algebra & World Language
Algebra (or higher), Spanish Year 1 and 2, and Chinese Year 1 taken in middle school may be added to the high school transcript if you choose. The form is available on our registration web site and here tonight. Can be completed any time before graduation A completed form can be submitted to the LC Public Office. Once the credit is added to the transcript, it cannot be removed

Choice Transfer Requests
All transfer requests are handled at the district level using an online application at We will notify you if your request is approved, but not all transfers will be accepted if we are overcrowded.

Spokane Virtual Learning
Students can take SVL courses over the summer or during the school year to free up space for electives. During registration, students indicated an interest in SVL, but this does not register them for the class. It is the responsibility of the student/parent to sign up for SVL. Summer SVL has a variety of course options with a tuition fee of $185 per .5 credit (one course).
