¿Cuál es la fecha de hoy? (What is the date today?) Hoy es viernes, el dieciséis (16) de agosto del 2019 (dos mil diecinueve). Today is Friday, the 16th of August of 2019.

5 Additional notes When spelling out words that have an accent mark (acento), you need to say “con acento” after the vowel that gets the accent. Example: Adiós a – de - i (con acento)- o - ese Upper case = mayúscula Lowercase = minúscula When spelling words that start with an upper case, you would say: Ex. Adiós A (mayúscula) – de - i (con acento)- o - ese

6 El alfabeto – práctica Practice saying el alfabeto en español with your partner. Ask your partner: A: ¿Cómo se escribe tu nombre? B: Se escribe__________. ¿Y tú? A: Se escribe__________. (then switch roles)

7 Libro p. 2, Leer (read) Listen as Señora Alves reads the dialogue under each image and follow along Then, you and your partner will take turns reading in Spanish and then translating into English to confirm your comprehension of the dialogue.
