3 New for 2020… Fall Tryouts for 2020 baseball season
All 2020 travel teams (2020 ages 9-15, so current ages 8-14) August 9-11, 2019: Lake Ann fields 1 and 6 (schedule below)

4 New for 2020… In addition to playing tournaments, all 10s and 11s travel teams to play in Metro Baseball League (MBL) Similar to current structure for 12-15s Metro season is generally 16 games against traveling teams from neighboring communities plus end-of-season MBL playoffs (minimum of 1 game) Games are generally weekdays; schedule set by team Three tournaments + any state tournaments (generally must qualify and decision to play state is up to each team; team is responsible for added cost) Games are generally Friday-Sunday, schedule set by host association Plan is for 1 out-of-town tournament Less tournaments than previous structure for 10s-11s (5 in recent years when just tournament teams) Focus on player development More predictable number of games Nearly all neighboring communities in MBL already; was extremely difficult to schedule scrimmages

9’s Community (born on or after May 1, 2010; mostly incoming 3rd graders) Balanced teams made up of community-only and tournament players If necessary, Community only player evaluations will be held in Spring 2020 Coaches to be present during evaluations Snake draft will be held immediately following evaluations 12-16 games starting after Mother’s Day Year-end tournament If your child plans to play Community only, do not register for Travel Baseball and no need to come to August 2019 tryouts 9’s Tournament (born on or after May 1, 2010; mostly incoming 3rd graders) Tournament players must also play 9’s Community! Registration for 9’s Community to open at a later date Balanced teams made up of tournament team players; compete at AA level Tryouts: August 9th, 2019 Lake Ann, 4:00PM – 5:30PM Teams to be “snaked” by Tournament Director/Player Agent based on tryout score to create equivalent teams Quantity of teams will be based on the tryout numbers Three 2020 summer tournaments included in registration fees Each team is responsible for their own fees for state tourneys (if qualified) More competitive than in-house Practices on Wednesday, Games on Friday – Sunday (depending on results)

6 2020 Program Overview 10/11’s 10/11’s Community League (born on or after May 1, 2009 (10s) or born on or after May 1, 2008 (11s); mostly incoming 4th /5th graders) Balanced teams made up of community-only players 12-14 games starting after Mother’s Day Year-end tournament Likely participate in league with Chaska, Eden Prairie, Edina, Carver, and Shakopee community teams under common rules Games/Practices: Weekdays If your child plans to play Community only, do not register for Travel Baseball and no need to come to August tryouts 10/11s Travel Teams (born on or after May 1, 2009 (10s) or born on or after May 1, 2008 (11s); mostly incoming 4th /5th graders) Levels and number of teams as numbers dictate 10s Tryouts: Saturday, August 1:30PM-3:00PM; Sunday, August 1:30PM-3:30PM 11s Tryouts: Saturday, August 11:45AM-1:30PM; Sunday, August 12:00PM-1:30PM Three 2020 summer tournaments included in registration fees Tournaments likely to be posted to website in March 2020 Individual teams are responsible for paying for state tournaments (if they qualify & go) Metro Baseball League games generally during week 1-2 practices per week, depending on Metro schedule 10/11s Travel Team players DO NOT participate in the community league

Tryouts for 9s Tournament: Arrive 30 Minutes Early for Check In Lake Ann Friday, August 9th, 2019, 4:00PM – 5:30PM Tryouts for 10s & 11s Travel: Arrive 30 Minutes Early for Check In T10s: Saturday, August 1:30PM-3:00PM; Sunday, August 1:30PM-3:30PM T11s: Saturday, August 11:45AM-1:30PM; Sunday, August 12:00PM-1:30PM Team Selection: Goal to announce teams by end of September Practices: Optional batting practice to begin in January 2020 (Dome). Official team practice begins in early April 2020. Tournaments Begin: May 2020 Tournament Uniforms Pants (2 long), reversible jerseys and fitted hats – provided by Association Sizing will be at a later date (current plan is for November)

8 How do I become a 9-11 Travel Coach?
Register Go to CAA Baseball Website: Complete concussion training – every 3 years Submit volunteer background check Register to volunteer as a coach Coach Interview to take place in early September (you will receive an from Ron Kalvoda) Qualification based on combination of interview feedback and prior year parent evaluations Head Coach selection made by Age Director in conjunction with Player Agent & VP Baseball Head Coach selects assistant coaches Three Coaches and One Manager per team each receive 8 hours of volunteer credit All assistant coaches must be registered, with background check, concussion training and Abuse Awareness training All managers must be registered as a key volunteer Only 4 adults allowed in dugout for MBL & MBT games!!! 9 Travel Team Tryouts and Team Selection Policy on Website Under Documents: 2018 Tryout Information
Player Agent: Tryouts, team selection, & “look out for the best interest of the players" Tryout dates – August 9-11, 2019 – Make up available on a case by case basis (be sure to talk to Jake Isenburg) Tryout logistics – Bats: USA Stamp of Approval – Attire: No club baseball or team level specific gear – Parents (Drop-off / Pick-up) Volunteers needed – details posted soon Tryout numbers: Number of teams at each age level is determined by number of registered players Goals: – Player Agent – best alignment of players and teams for player success and retention – Parents – lead by example (tryouts, team selection, season) – Season – challenge players appropriately, have fun and retain

How do I volunteer? 2020 Volunteer deposit Volunteer deposit will be collected from every family via check at uniform sizing Everyone needs to submit a volunteer deposit in order to receive their uniform No Check, no uniform If you have applied as a coach, manager, assistant manager or if you have completed some hours, you still must provide the check for the volunteer fee Checks will be destroyed at end of the season if volunteer hours are completed To Sign Up for Volunteer Hours Click on Volunteer Information Click on Volunteer Opportunities Volunteer expectations 8 hours per family (not per player) Volunteering in support of August 2019 tryouts will count against 2020 requirement Spontaneous help is always welcome, but does not qualify as volunteer hours Volunteer hours are recorded by Volunteer Coordinator or via the CAA website When you apply to become a volunteer, you give our organization the right to conduct necessary background checks To qualify for volunteer hours, the job(s) must be posted on Volunteerspot. If it is not in volunteer spot, then it does not qualify. CHANHASSSEN CHALLENGE HOSTED in 2020 is great opportunity to receive credit!!

12 Player Safety Concussion Certification:
