Print copies continue to have value to our clients Individual copies Annotated versions Specialty binder sets (Local Government Binder) Specified Penalty Listing For researching For library and law firm environments

3 How we distribute the laws
Annual Volumes are official copies of the laws Copies are also available in the following formats: Looseleaf Statutes Individual copies Specialty sets (Enforcement) Online in PDF and HTML formats on Queen’s Printer website QP Source Professional Searchable CD’s

4 Information Management
Currently source documents are prepared in Word 2003 Copies of the laws will be converted to Word 2010 this fiscal year Significant effort will be required to ensure proper formatting during conversion process Will be upgrading our merchant supply software, Microsoft Dynamics, and will also address payment card industry security standards during this fiscal year

5 Crown Copyright on the Laws
Alberta Queen’s Printer maintains copyright on the laws We no longer charge fees for reproductions or agreements Materials can be reproduced without permission with proper acknowledgement We maintain copyright on OHS Code materials and have royalty agreements in place collecting revenue

6 2010/11 Year Review $1.616 million in revenue
17,482 invoices processed 153,855 items distributed 1,032 legislative changes processed 1.802 million views or retrievals of the laws online 27% less materials were distributed and 34% less revenue was brought in compared with last fiscal year Reduced distribution of materials is due to availability of online PDF version of the laws, change in copyright position, and not a peak OHS year

Successfully published and distributed the new Alberta Rules of Court 2-volume binder set 2-volume handbook set Online in PDF format on Queen’s Printer website with hyperlinks Word version published on QP Source Professional searchable document with point-in-time versions and hyperlinks Forms CD Published and distributed the first update in December Total of 2,175 binder sets sold and 754 copies of the handbook sets sold and had 18,000 hits on QP website from October to March We were recognized by both the Service Alberta Deputy Minister and the Justice Deputy Minister

Legal name changes published in the Alberta Gazette from are no longer available for viewing on the Queen’s Printer website Legal name changes continue to be available for referencing in QP Source Professional and in print volumes As of September 2010 clients are required to sign an acknowledgement of their name change being published online
