Procedure: Make sure the penny is dry Estimate the number of drops of water that can be piled onto the penny before it spills. Gently place drops of water on the penny using the dropper until the water spills over Record your results. Clean up your mess!!! Answer the following questions. How does this experiment show the cohesion of water?

2 Station 2: The Floating Paper Clip
Materials: 1 paperclip, 1 cup of water, tissue paper Procedure: Place a piece of tissue paper on the surface of the water in the cup. Gently place the paperclip on top of the tissue paper. Use your pencil to gently push down the tissue paper without moving the paperclip. Clean up your mess!! Answer the following question. How does this experiment show that water has surface tension?

3 Station 3: It’s Raining Materials: water spray bottle, window, paper towels Procedure: Spray a little bit of water on the window. 2. Observe what happens to the water. 3. Answer the following question. How does this experiment show the adhesion of water? 4. Clean up your mess!!! Dry off the window!!!

4 Station 4: Climbing Water
Materials: strip of paper towel, colored water in a cup Procedure: Rip a thin piece of paper towel into a 1 inch strip. Place the end of the paper towel strip into the water. Hold the end of the strip in the water for 30 seconds. Observe what happens. Answer the following question. How does this experiment show the capillary action of water?
