1 Language Arts: Tuesday 4-30
Have your acronym assignment out from Thursday. (I.N. 33) Choose your best one to share and circle it. Take Notes on the following: (Create an I.N. 34) Palindrome – A word, verse, or number that reads the same backward or forward. Examples: KAYAK, 1881, “able was I, ere I saw elba”

2 Types of Advertisement Project: (Take notes on I.N. 34)
Create either a packet or power point with an example of each kind of type of persuasion in advertisement. (6 types to cover = 6 pages or slides) You may not use any examples I have shown in class. You may use links to videos if you use a power point or clips from magazines or newspapers if you are creating a book. You must have a WORKS CITED PAGE as well.

3 Requirements for Each Slide/Page: (Take notes on I.N. 34)
Name the type of persuasion and define it Show an example of it (video clip/ magazine clip/ etc.) Describe in a couple sentences how the advertisement is an example of that type of persuasion.

4 Types of Advertisement Project: ROUGH DRAFT
On a separate piece of paper, fold it so there are 6 boxes. Fill in the boxes with the 6 types of persuasion in advertisement. Define each to remind yourself. Begin brainstorming advertisements or commercials (if you are doing a powerpoint) Tomorrow we will be in Tech Lab researching. Bring this paper, because you will turn it in after TLC tomorrow.

5 Language Arts: Wednesday 5-1
BEFORE you can get on a computer, I need to see that your 6 types of persuasion are filled out and defined on your rough draft. I also need to see that your acronym assignment is complete. On the internet, use easybib.com to create your works cited. On the back of your square rough draft, write the detailed info for your works cited.

6 Language Arts: Thursday 5-2 I.N. 35
Why is it important to have a “Works Cited” page? What should be included on a Works Cited page? How do you know if a source is reliable?

7 Works Cited Tutorial Review on Plagarism

8 Preferred vs. Less Reliable
On page 173 in your green textbook, read the text on Preferred vs. Less Reliable Sources. Then complete the Practice section (#1-5) in your I.N. 35. On page 186, Complete the Grammar Link section and Practice #1-3 as well. When you finish, you have time to work on your project that’s due tomorrow (if it is with you), study for the vocabulary test tomorrow, or read silently.

9 Language Arts: Friday 5-3
Clear everything off of your desk for the vocabulary test.
