Lesson for FAO: Need for multidisciplinary approach (epidemiology, socioeconomics, food security, policy…)

Long-term achievable solution with milestones needed
Necessitates reviewing and realigning the national plan to reflect evolving realities
Weak animal health institutional capacity and absence of command chain
Lack of conducive (equity, pro-poor and transparent, etc…) animal health policies and weak reinforcement capacity
Ad-hoc and piecemeal approach
Absence of functional partnerships between the public and private sectors
