From February 2017, Savaria Campus in Szombathely with an outstanding infrastructure for higher education. Main areas of education: mechanical engineering, sports science and health promotion, and pedagogical training. University is mainly responsible for basic research, but there are areas – e.g. informatics, biology – where co-operation with the industrial partners results in marketable products

13 Intellectual property regulation
The moral rights concerning IP (including software) belongs to the researcher The economic rights to IP belongs to the university if the IP have been created in the course of work duties, in the course of contractual or employment relationship The ownership of the IP can be shared according to the contract between ELTE and the partner/company Researchers are obliged to inform ELTE about new possible inventions Innovation Center must be involved in every grant application in the case of innovation potential

14 Handling of inventions
Decision on taking possession of IP, patenting and signing license agreements will be made by the Board of Inventions (within 90 days) Members: 8 faculties’ vice-deans, vice rector for science, chancellor, director of Innovation Center Meeting or online voting (faster) ELTE is obliged to patent (if possible and proposed) and utilize ELTE will cover the expenses related to the industrial propety legal protection Distribution of income: 60% to inventors; 20% to Innovation Risk Fund; 10% to TTO; 10% to the Department (where the inventors are employed)

16 Role of the Innovation Center
supports the establishment of start-up and spin-off companies supports the commercialisation of inventions and know-how helps finding partners for research and innovation projects provides funding and support for intellectual property protection (involving experts) delivers training programs and workshops for the researchers introduces an innovation intensive approach in the education

17 Technology transfer and commercialization

20 Innovation-related activities
Start-up course for ELTE students (since 2016) aiming to make the entrepreneurial mind-set and business thinking available for non-business students ( : 5 courses, 137 participants). R&D prizes and activities: Researcher Of The Year Prize (since 2009) to recognize exceptional accomplishments and award researchers who use their scientific knowledge for the benefit of ELTE. Innovative Student Idea Contest (since 2010) to boost innovation related activities among studentst applicantst each year, prize money being awarded to the best teams. ELTE Innovation Day (since 2010): The event is organised yearly, being a great platform to raise attention of attendees to new technologies. It is one of the biggest Hungarian University addressed platform for innovative technologies emerging from academy and industry in Hungary.
