16 Pricing / Licensing / Offerings
All active subscriptions transitioned No changes to prices, account status, etc. Each BPOS SKU will map to one and only one Office 365 SKU. Customers may switch offerings after transition EDU Customers Not Transitioning Now There will be NO changes to pricing and account status. All BPOS customers will transition to one of two basic Office 365 SKUs, neither of which includes the Office Web Applications feature (or other advanced features). After transition from BPOS customers can upgrade to K2, E2, E3 or E4. SharePoint Deskless Worker SKU is being retired due to lack of market interest. These customers will remain on this SKU until it is time to renew their subscription. As subscription renewal approaches, Microsoft will reach out to these customers and discuss other SKUs which could meet their needs.

18 System requirements

19 New System Requirements
Key Areas of Change New features New Offerings Live Meeting to Lync transition New System Requirements New Portal Experiences URL Changes for OWA and Portals Services Connector (And no Sign In App) Optional: Federated Identity New Password Requirements The Office 365 service offering provides a number of new features and functionality across various plans A discussion of all the new features and functionality of Office 365 are outside of the scope of this presentation but customers should go to to get more information The SharePoint Online Deskless Worker standalone subscription will not be available in Office Customers currently subscribing to that USL (User Subscription License) will be contacted by Microsoft with further details Live Meeting will be replaced by Lync Online. After transition customers should replace the Live Meeting add-in for Outlook with the Lync Online add-in for Outlook Live Meeting service will remain running for some time after Office 365 general availability to give customers time to move their recurring Live Meeting conferences to the Lync Online service Office 365 will have new system requirements around client software. This is a critical component of the transition and will be discussed below. The Admin Portal, Customer Portal and My Company Portal will be replaced by the Microsoft Online Portal. A new and improved portal experience. The Outlook Web App and the portal URLs (Admin, Customer, My Company) will change The Sign In application will no longer be needed and there will be a new client application called the Services Connector that is used for initial configuration and updating of end user computers Federated identity is optional and will enable single sign-on (SSO) but it does require deploying one or more ADFS 2.0 server roles on premises Rich coexistence describes the ability to share free/busy availability information between users with on- premises mailboxes (on Exchange Server) and users with online mailboxes (in Exchange Online). It requires at least one Exchange 2010 Server CAS server role deployed on-premises.

20 System Requirements Key Changes
Office 2003 Not Supported Internet Explorer 6 Not Supported Office Communicator 2007 R2 Not Supported BPOS Sign In Application Deprecated Online Service Connector Required The big three that we must make clear to customers: Office 2003 is not supported. Office 365 will refuse connections to Outlook 2003 (except as an SMTP client). Other Office 2003 programs may work in some circumstances, but the user experience will be frustrating. More important, if a customer has a support issue and reports they are using Office 2003, support can not assist them, and will close the ticket. As support is a central feature to Office 365, this is not the experience we want for customers. Internet Explorer 6 is not supported. Office 365 will not refuse connections to IE6, but the experience will be abysmal. For example, SharePoint 2010 could require users to log in each time they click on a link. None of the rich UI of Outlook will be function correctly—users will be relegated to OWA Light, which is a stripped down version of OWA. One of the main reasons customers have not upgraded to more recent versions of Internet Explorer is that they have line-of-business applications that they have not tested on IE7/IE8, or even more challenging, that they have verified do not work properly on IE7/IE8. While this does create a hurdle for customers, it is important to remember that IE6 was introduced a decade ago, and IE7 five years ago. Putting aside the security, performance and usability enhancements of IE7 and IE8, customers should have an application portfolio management strategy that enables periodic advances in all legacy applications. Office Communicate 2007 R2 will no longer be supported, but the move to Lync should be a much smoother experience for customers. Finally, on a more positive note, Microsoft is deprecating the BPOS Sign-in Application, replacing it with a service connector that will, after a one-time configuration, allow end-user Windows security credentials to authenticate directly with Office 365. Single sign-on is much more, well single-sign-on- ish.

21 Office 365, Office Client and Browser Companion
Exchange Online Upgrade to Office 2010 or Office 2007 SP2. Outlook 2003 not supported via any protocol. OR use Outlook Web App (part of Exchange Online) in browser. Internet Explorer 7 or higher (v3 or higher for Firefox, Safari, Chrome) SharePoint Online Read/Edit via Office Web Apps (browser companion to Office) Document must be Office 2010 or 2007 SP2 to edit Not all plans (SKUs) offer Office Web Apps edit capability Read capability is part of SharePoint Online Read/Edit via Office rich client Document and Office client must be 2010 or 2007 SP2 For Exchange Online, end users who use Outlook must be on Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2007 SP2. Outlook 2003 is not supported via any protocol (Outlook Anywhere, POP3, IMAP, etc.). End users can also use the Outlook Web App that is included with Exchange Online. Note that the browser must meet minimum browser requirements. See center.aspx for full browser requirements. For SharePoint Online: For users that want to read and edit Office documents with Office Web Apps the document must be Office 2003 or 2007 SP2. Reading is part of SharePoint Online but editing is not part of all SKUs The browser must meet minimum system requirements. Again, please see for full system requirements. For users who want to read and edit Office documents via Microsoft Office in SharePoint Online the document and Office client must be 2010 or 2007 SP2 Finally – using SharePoint Online in Office 365 in general will require a browser that meets system requirements.

22 Office 365 Password Requirements
Office 365 has updated strong-password requirements. When users reset their passwords via the normal password expiration process, new passwords must meet the following requirements: Passwords must be between 7 and 16 characters Passwords cannot contain characters from different language sets, e.g. Arabic or Greek or German. Passwords can only be comprised of basic, English-language letters and symbols, called ASCII characters. ASCII characters include: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, # $ % ^ & * - _ + = [ ] { } | \ : ‘ , . ? / ` ~ “ < > ( ) ;

23 Identity Separate online credentials Log in each session
Microsoft Online Identity (Current) Federated Identity (SSO) with ADFS 2.0 Separate online credentials Log in each session No on-prem server required for authentication Single Sign-On with corporate credentials Requires ADFS 2.0 on premises Supports 2 factor authentication Optional

24 New System Requirements

25 The transition experience

26 Transition Overview

27 Availability and Timeline
Beta Q4 2010 Pilot Q2 2011 GA June 2011 Limited Transitions 1-3 months post GA Transition Available GA +4 months Transitions End GA +16 months 12 Months to Transition We won’t be transitioning all of our customers at once. Even if we did have the technical resources to do so, it wouldn’t make sense for our customers. That said, customers cannot stay on BPOS forever. They must transition, and we are giving them a 12 month period to transition beginning four months after general availability. While we will transition customers immediately after GA (and even before it), we won’t start the transition clock until a couple of months after transition, when the transition engine has all the features we need to transition nearly every customer The limited transitions immediately after GA will focus on a small subset of Exchange only customers. Microsoft will contact those customers that qualify. 27 | Microsoft Confidential

28 Getting on the Upgrade Train
The Monthly Upgrade Train Each month a batch of customers will be upgraded from Microsoft Online V1 to Microsoft Online V2 over a specific weekend Scheduling Customers will be scheduled into a specific monthly batch ahead of time. Customers will be notified of what batch they are in during launch window Customers will notified again up to 30 days before to communicate the specific migration day Customers can request to be moved to a different migration upgrade Microsoft Online V2 RTW Batch 1 50 Ten. 30 Improved Administration
Transition Benefits Office 365 brings many top-requested features from customers The term “transition” describes the end-to-end experience of a customer moving from BPOS to Office 365, including planning, piloting, data upgrade, client access and configuration work. New Identity Platform New Server Platforms Improved Administration Single Sign-In (SSO) Federated identity Live ID infrastructure Microsoft Federation Gateway Exchange 2010, SharePoint 2010, Lync 2010 Architected from the ground up for multi-tenancy Server-service parity Improved coexistence Native migration tools Role-based access control Remote PowerShell Extended control panels Self-serve user admin More settings / options exposed to admin.

31 Transition Roles and Responsibilities
Microsoft Make customers aware Propose schedule Information and guidance All changes within Microsoft datacenters Uninterrupted mail flow Migrate all data Customer Respond to schedule proposal End-user training and communications Update end-user computer software and devices if necessary Optional: Deploy ADFS role, Exchange Server 2010 Microsoft is committed to making the BPOS to Office 365 transition as simple and automated for customers as possible. We’re committed to near zero down-time for and IM, and as brief a service interruption as possible for Sharepoint. Finally, Microsoft is committed to a secure transition which will insure privacy and data integrity. We’ll handle almost the entire transition, from giving you guidance, to handling all the data transitions. There are only three things we need customers to do: Respond to Microsoft when we propose a transition date, or ask you about readiness. Handle any end-user training that may be required if users are new to Office 2007/2010 or IE7/8. Update end-user computers to meet the system requirements.

32 Pre-Transition

Prepare desktop with NEW Office 365 services (Install Lync 2010, and deploy Office 365 Connector)

35 Scheduling the Transition
Microsoft gathers customer feedback Mid-2011 Microsoft Proposes Schedule 2011 In In Product Via Account Team or Requests Different Schedule Customer Acknowledges Via Support Via MOAC Communication and Countdown Guidance Reminders Documentation Transition occurs over a weekend (48 hours) Transition batches scheduled weekly Initial schedule date based on start date and customer feedback Microsoft will solicit your feedback around when you would like to transition. BUT, Microsoft can’t guarantee that we will match your feedback with our transition schedule: Microsoft may propose a transition that is earlier than you are ready. If you’re not ready to go, don’t accept the proposed transition date. You can push it back up to (and over) three months, and if that’s not long enough you can postpone the next date Microsoft proposes. As long as you accept a date within the 12-month transition period, you can continually postpone until you are ready.

Pre-GA Trying Office 365 for Existing Customers Post GA Beta Not convertible to production for existing customers (convertible for new Office 365 customers) Existing customers cannot use their BPOS domain in beta Office 365 Trial (GA) Existing customers cannot use their BPOS domain in Office 365 trial Mailbox Pilot (GA+) Small group of end users and their mailboxes moved to Office 365 Production pilot – users will stay on Office Data preserved. Existing customers need to be aware that trials will work differently for them than for new customers. New customers can trial Office 365 and then convert the trial tenant to a paid tenant and preserve all their data. Existing customers can do anything they want in an Office 365 trial tenant, but they should be aware of a couple important things. Number 1: DO NOT USE THE SAME DOMAIN AS YOUR EXISTING TENANT. This could cause problems with a future transition. Number 2: Any data in your trial tenant will be lost. Just use it for experimenting. The one exception for this is after GA. At that point, existing BPOS customers can move a small group of end-users and their mailboxes to Office 365 WITHOUT losing any data when the remainder of the tenant is transitioned.
