2 The Digital Learning Landscape
EdTech has opened up a whole new world to teaching and has significantly changed teaching practices Learning has become adaptive, personalised and intuitive Teaching has become dynamic and engaging Colleges are becoming hubs for digital innovation

3 The Digital Learning Landscape
While most colleges look to develop and incorporate new digital strategies within their curriculum, it remains an up-hill struggle! Colleges face many challenges: Lack of funding - having to do more with less, streamline services and processes Weak IT infrastructure on which to hang digital - out of date equipment, poor connectivity, minimal dedicated IT support Resistance to change - tutors feeling threatened by technology, fearing that technology will ‘make them redundant’ Lack of tutor training - teachers aren’t up to date with use of technology High workloads – tutors have no time to develop their skills Lack of funding also leads to weak IT infrastructure…

4 Digital Content to Solve Problems
Wave a magic wand - what do colleges want digital to do for them? Provide a more effective learning environment Grow and prosper Empower tutors Improve learner outcomes Increase learner retention Produce a competent and skilled workforce

5 How can we help? We’ve created courses that… SAVE TUTOR TIME
Automated marking of assessments to reduce workload and administrative tasks Content release and scheduling of all classwork and homework in advance Pre-prepared Schemes of Work So, how do our course help to solve the problems that we’ve discussed….. They save tutor time by: Content release and scheduling of all classwork and homework in advance – not only saves tutor time by being able to plan and schedule the release of all lesson activities ahead of time, but it also helps with personalised learning, whereby the tutor can assign different content to different learners or groups of learners, depending on their ability and current level of work. Pre-prepared Schemes of Work – provides a detailed plan of how the content can be fully integrated into the teaching plan.

6 And there’s more… Provide extensive analytical data to identify knowledge gaps and prevent learners falling behind Offer flexibility through different delivery methods and formats Deliver personalised and differentiated learning, allowing the tutor to direct the learning process for each individual learner Encourage competition with a built-in leader board functionality Allow learners to take more control of their own learning Prepares the learner for the workplace through virtual simulation of practical tasks Provide extensive analytical data to help identify knowledge gaps and prevent learners falling behind. Conversely, it can help to spot learners who may be racing ahead, and who might benefit from pushing further. Offer flexibility through different delivery methods and formats – this can be blended learning, distance learning or independent learning, and it can be done in-class or on-line. Deliver personalised and differentiated learning, allowing the tutor to direct the learning process for each individual learner. Through tracking, content scheduling and also pass mark management, each learner can have their own learning experience. The different types of tasks also caters to different learning styles. Encourage competition with a built-in leader board functionality Allow learners to take more control of their own learning. They have the option to repeat assessments if they didn’t pass them, or if they feel they could do better. Provides them with every opportunity to learn and progress.

7 ‘empowering tutors not replacing them’
Immersive Learning Environment ‘empowering tutors not replacing them’ Courses Special Features Cloud Delivery Benefits Special Features Learning analytics – many different reports available Instant feedback – intuitive course design providing things such as prompts and hints which guide the learner through the course Data visualisation – display of data using graphs and charts to help visual learners better understand what they’re looking at Your own course – can take certain units to create your own structure, or you can create bespoke courses using our templates Cloud Delivery - We have our own platform, GVS PiLOT which acts as a host for the content Seamless connectivity – LTI connection which is compatible with VLEs such as Canvas, Moodle and Its Learning Automatic updates – allows for new content or features to be uploaded so that you are always working with the most up to date content
