Trust Issues The trouble which comes is very often not the trouble which we expected. C. J. Vaughan ( ) 7/28/2019

Ephesians 5:8 - for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 1 Thessalonians 5:5 - For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.

Isaiah 40: Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Psalm 22:6 - But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people.

Matthew 6:22-23 The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Hate Defined miséō – properly, to detest (on a comparative basis); hence, denounce; to love someone or something less than someone (something) else, i.e. to renounce one choice in favor of another. Helps Word Studies

Luke 14:26 If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.

Matthew 15:4 - For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ Matthew 19:19 - Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Matthew 10:37 Whoever loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

To Be Anxious merimnáō "a part, as opposed to the whole" – properly, drawn in opposite directions; "divided into parts"; "to go to pieces" because pulled apart in different directions – Helps Word Studies

Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

2 Corinthians 11:28 And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.

Luke 9:22-24 “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.” And He said to all, “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.”

Philippians 4:5-7 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

For Our Consideration What does Jesus being Lord of your life actually mean in how you live? Are you anxious and how do you deal with it when it comes knocking? What does “taking up a cross” mean to you? How do you arrive at a place of peace?

Prayer Focus Thank You Father for new life in Jesus.
Thank You for the gift of Your Word to lead and guide us daily. Thank You for everything, even the difficult issues in our life right now. Thank You for peace and joy.
