Program for High School Students Information Session Alamance Community College

2 Three Types of Pathways
Cooperative Innovative High School Programs ABSS Early and Middle College High Schools at ACC Career and Technical Education Pathways (CTE) lead to a certificate or diploma that can align with a high school career cluster.  College Transfer Pathway (CTP) includes at least 30 semester hours of transfer courses including English and mathematics.

3 Career Technical Pathways
Eligibility Requirements High school junior or senior Weighted GPA of 3.0 or the recommendation of principal/principal’s designee Must meet the testing requirements of any courses taken in the pathway

4 Career Technical Pathways
Accounting Advertising & Graphic Design Animal Care Management Automotive Biotechnology Business & Marketing Computer-Integrated Machining Cosmetology – kits provided Criminal Justice Culinary Early Childhood Healthcare Clerical Horticulture HVAC Information Technology Business Support PC Repair Linux/Unix Web Design Network Technician Windows Mechanical Drafting Mechatronics Medical Assisting Medical Coding & Billing Nurse Aide Welding

5 CTE Courses at Southern
These courses are not college transfer courses but count for credit toward ACC’s CJC degree, give students excellent background in the field of CJC and provide a credential to list on a resume or application.

6 College Transfer Pathways*
Two pathway tracks: Associate in Arts (32 credit hours) Associate in Science (35 credit hours) *Credits are guaranteed to transfer to any of the 16 public universities in N.C. and many private colleges as general education credit.

7 College Transfer Pathways
Eligibility Requirements High school junior or senior Weighted GPA > 3.0 Must be “college ready” – based on state approved assessment test scores
