9. a. The Townshend acts of 1767 said that _Britain__ couldn’t tax goods inside the colonies only those brought into (imported) the colonies. i. The colonial boycotts hurt British merchants and all import taxes were ended except for the one on _Tea__.
ii. In March 1770, in __Boston___, an angry crowd surrounded soldiers and threw snowballs and rocks. The soldiers __Fired___ shots and killed 5 people. This event is known as the Boston __Massacre_.

10. The Colonist Samuel _Adams__ started the Committee of correspondence which kept colonists informed on the __British__ government and when they tried to enforce unpopular acts the colonists would know.
